Congress income fell by 25% in FY20, expenditure doubled

Congress's income in 2019-20 declined by 25% to Rs 682 crore as compared to 2018-19, while its expenditure more than doubled to Rs 998 crore from Rs 470 crore over this period, according to its annual audit report for 2019-20 submitted to the Election Commission.​The party's receipts worth Rs 682 crore in the year 2019-20 mark a significant fall from Rs 918 crore earned by the party in 2018-19, which was immediately followed by the Lok Sabha polls.
